I build deep learning systems for 3D perception in autonomous driving — currently transformer-based multiple object tracking with LiDAR and camera fusion. Alongside the research, I write software, mentor first-generation students, and teach programming to women and girls in Ghana.

About

Bridging research and shipped software

A researcher who likes production code, and an engineer who likes reading papers.

I am an industrial PhD researcher working at the point where academic research meets a product that has to work on a real vehicle. My work with Aptiv and Osnabrück University focuses on deep learning models for 3D multiple object tracking — fusing LiDAR point clouds and multi-camera imagery with transformer architectures that stay robust under occlusion and viewpoint change.

That dual footing in academia and industry shapes how I work: I care about benchmarks, but I care just as much about latency, failure modes, and whether the thing is maintainable six months from now. Before the PhD I worked on conversational AI ethics, emotion detection across cultures, and machine learning for e-commerce — research that has been cited in work on culturally-aware AI systems.

As a first-generation student, I know how much difference one open door makes. So I volunteer teaching programming, mentor women moving into tech, and have twice served as a panelist at the United Nations Internet Governance Forum on IoT security and trust. When I am not doing any of that, I am probably reading about whatever is about to change the field next.

Research

3D multiple object tracking for autonomous driving

My doctoral work asks how a self-driving system can keep a stable, consistent identity for every object around it — through occlusion, through sensor noise, and across sensor modalities.

Camera–LiDAR fusion

Fusing bird's-eye-view features from multiple cameras and LiDAR so geometry and semantics inform re-identification together.

Query-based tracking

Two-stage transformer pipelines that propagate identities across frames without an explicit motion model.

Temporal refinement

A transformer smoother over a moving window that reduces jitter and improves spatial consistency before tracking.

AI ethics & context

Earlier work on how culture, context and environment change what an emotion-detection model should be trusted to do.
